Brush fire erupts in Riverside County

HEMET, Calif. (AP) - Southern California firefighters are battling a 15- to 20-acre wildland fire south of Hemet in Riverside County.

The fire was reported at 12:55 p.m. Wednesday and is burning in grass and medium brush.

A county fire statement says 68 firefighters have been assigned along with two air tankers and a helicopter.

Weather in the region is hot and unstable, with thunderstorms and flash flood warnings in many areas.
