Bury your main vine as it grows with fine soil, not the leaves, so roots will form quickly at every node. Be careful you don't cover your potential pumpkin!
Dr. Sabol came by KSBY and dug a trench last weekend in front of our main vine, adding compost to get ready for this additional root population. He also put a stake up against our main vine so the wind wouldn't blow it off track!
The main vine may go as far as 20 feet from the planting site and the others will go as far as ten feet.
We are on our way!
But still no flowers at least here at KSBY!
