CA man found, leads police to body believed wife

CHINO, Calif. (AP) - Police in Southern California say they have arrested a man from who disappeared earlier this week, and he led them to a body believed to be his missing wife.

Fontana police say they'd been searching for Victor and Lorna Lopez since Tuesday.

On Thursday morning, 40-year-old Victor Lopez appeared at a relative's house in Huntington Park and asked for help surrendering.

Police took him into custody at the house, and he later agreed to lead them to his wife.

In a search of a field in Chino, police found a body.

A police statement says the woman has not been positively identified, but detectives are confident it is Lorna Lopez.

Victor Lopez was arrested on suspicion of homicide. It was not clear if he has hired an attorney.
