Cabrillo softball blanked Lompoc 2-0 to clinch the outright Los Padres League title on Friday in its regular season finale.
The Lady Conquistadores finished the season 11-1 in LPAL action and 17-9 overall. The ladies are riding a nine game winning streak into the postseason.
Cabrillo earned its first LPAL title since 2006. The Conquistadores are the league's #1 seed for CIF and are guaranteed a first round home game. The playoff brackets will be released late Monday morning.
Nipomo came from behind to beat Morro Bay 5-2 to finish LPAL play 10-2 and 19-5 overall. The Pirates scored twice in the bottom of the first inning against Nipomo ace Courtney Cuzick. The Titans tied it with two runs in the fourth and won it with 3 in the sixth.
Vangie Lopez had 2 hits to lead Nipomo's 8 hit attack. Cuzick finished with 13 strikeouts and scattered 5 hits and 2 unearned runs in a complete game effort.
Lompoc finished third in the league standings at 7-5, while Morro Bay finished fourth at 6-6. Both the Braves and Pirates earned spots in the CIF playoffs.
