Cabrillo water polo star Aldridge signs with CSU Bakersfield

Cabrillo High girls water polo star Tancy Aldridge has signed a national letter of intent to Cal State Bakersfield.

Aldrige has led the league champion Conquistadores in scoring as a sophomore and junior. She has more than 100 career varsity goals. She earned Co-MVP in the Los Padres League her junior season and was an All-League First Tema pick as a sophomore. This past summer, she won the Silver Medal at the Junior Olympics with the Santa Barbara Water Polo Club. She was named Outstanding Academic All-American by USA Water Polo in the summer.

The Roadrunners just joined the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, which is the nation's top conference for women's water polo. It includes Stanford, USC, UCLA and other Pac-12 programs. Last season, the Roadrunners went 24-17 as members of the Western Water Polo Association.
