A spokesperson for Atascadero State Hospital says a visit by Cal/OSHA officials Wednesday was in part to resolve some issues raised about safety.
The Department of Mental Health says it has been working with Cal/OSHA through meetings and work groups to develop plans and implement safety upgrades, not just at ASH, but across seven state hospitals.
Back in March, Cal/OSHA fined Atascadero State Hospital $38,000 for unsafe working conditions.
