A Cal Poly club remembered survivors of sexual assault tonight with its "Take Back the Night" event.
Cal Poly SAFER hosted an evening of speakers, a resource fair and a candlelight vigil at Creeky Tiki in downtown San Luis Obispo.
The international event started in 1975.
SAFER is Cal Poly's sexual assault and relationship risk reduction program.
"I think it's very important to have a group like this on campus because college aged women are more likely to get sexually assaulted than any other group of women in society," said Cierra Mensign of Cal Poly SAFER.
