The Cal Poly men's cross country team is pegged to win its eighth straight Big West title. The Mustangs were the unanimous selection to win the conference title in the Big West Coaches Poll. The UC Davis men finished second and UCSB in third.
The Cal Poly women's squad was selected to finish third, while the UCSB women were the preseason pick.
The Mustang men have won seven titles in a row and ten overall. Carl Dargitz and Daniel Gonia are the team's top returners.
Cal Poly opens the season this Saturday at the UCSB Lagoon Open.
