SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The Cal Poly Men's Basketball team is a 16 seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament and will play fellow 16 seed Texas Southern in the 'First Four' on Wednesday at 3:40 P.M. in Dayton, Ohio.
The Mustangs (13-19) earned the Big West Conference's automatic bid by defeating Cal State Northridge in the conference's title game on Saturday night.
Wednesday will mark the first NCAA Tournament appearance ever for the Cal Poly Men as a Division I program.
Texas Southern (19-14) earned the Southwestern Athletic Conference's automatic bid with a victory in their conference tournament on Saturday as well.
The winner of Wednesday's game will advance to take on top seed and unbeaten Wichita State in St. Louis on Friday.
