Cal Poly falls in outdoor dual to Oregon State

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The Cal Poly Wrestling team was competitive in their first outdoor dual in program history on Thursday, but fell to No. 24 Oregon State 22-12.

The dual, held at the plaza of the University Union on Cal Poly's campus, brought a large contingent of Mustang faithful who had plenty to cheer about early on.

The Mustangs won four of the dual's first seven matches. Dominic Kastl, Spencer Empey, Britain Longmire and Devon Lotito all won by decision. Lotito's victory knotted the dual at 12 apiece.

From there, it was all Beavers as Oregon State won the final three matches to earn the 22-12 dual victory.

Cal Poly returns to action on Saturday at the California Collegiate Open hosted by San Francisco State.
