A Cal Poly graduate is in the running for the statewide ASCE Outstanding Younger Civil Engineer Award.
On Saturday, Valerie Huff will be recognized as the 2013 Outstanding Younger Civil Engineer for the Los Angeles Section Title. That honor puts her in the running for the statewide title.
The award recognizes women under the age of 35 who help advance engineering through innovative concepts, research, and materials.
Huff is a civil engineer with the Wallace Group. She helps with public works and private development projects, including drainage and infrastructure master plans.
She earned her Bachelor's degree in Bioresource and Agricultural Engineering and her Master's degree in Engineering from Cal Poly.
The statewide award winner will be announced in early 2014.
