Cal Poly is having a grand opening ceremony Wednesday night for the university's new SLO HotHouse.
Cal Poly's Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship teamed up with local business leaders and the City of San Luis Obispo to create the region's first small business incubator.
Here, the best start-up ideas will become realities on the Central Coast. The HotHouse will provide participants with resources to build a successful, local business.
The goal of the incubator is to strengthen the local economy and bring Cal Poly and the community closer together.
The SLO HotHouse is located at 955 Morro St. in downtown San Luis Obispo.
SLO Chamber CEO Ermina Karim will lead the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Cal Poly President Jeffrey Armstrong will also speak at the grand opening.
It starts at 5 p.m.
