Chris Eversley scored a season-high 25 points but it was not enough as Cal Poly lost at Stanford, 79-62.
Stefan Nastic scored 20 points and Dwight Powell added 15 more as Stanford muscled its way to a 9-3 record. The Mustangs dropped to 4-8 and 0-3 against the Pac-12 this season.
Powell and Nastic gave Stanford a big size advantage down low, as the two members of the Cardinal frontcourt paced the team in the first half before a barrage of 3-pointers put the game out of reach. Stanford held a 33-20 lead at intermission and ran away in the second half, as cold-shooting Cal Poly went just 35.4 percent from the field.
The Mustangs play at Delaware on Saturday before starting Big West play at home on January 9th against Hawaii.
