The Cal Poly Women's Soccer team lost its first match of the season on Friday night, 4-1 against Cal. It was the first of two home matches for the Mustangs against a Pac-12 team this year. The loss drops Cal Poly to 3-1-1 and improves Cal to 2-2.
The Golden Bears outshot the Mustangs 10-3 in the first half and took a 1-0 lead to the half. In the second half, Cal scored in the 48th minute, 55th minute and 65th minute.
Cal Poly's Cici Kobinski scored from 15 yards out in the 78th minute for the Mustangs lone goal. It was Kobinski's first goal of the season.
Cal Poly will host Saint Mary's next Friday at 7:00pm. The Mustangs then host Oregon State on Sunday at 11:00am.
