Late goals powered both the Cal Poly men's and women's soccer teams to victory on Friday night.
The Cal Poly men won their season opener on the road at Denver 1-0. Chris Gaschen scored the lone goal in the 88th minute. Goalkeeper Patrick McLain recorded seven saves in the Mustangs' opening victory. They travel to take on the Air Force on Sunday.
The Cal Poly women won their home opener 2-0 against the defending WAC champions from San Jose State. Whitney Sisler and Bianca Burright found the back of the net in the 77th and 81st minutes. For Sisler it was her third goal of the season. The ladies improved to 3-1 on the season and have won three in a row. They travel to the University of Arizona for a match on Sunday.
