Cal Poly men's soccer prepares for fall camp

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif- The Cal Poly men's soccer team gears up for fall camp under a new interim head coach Phil Ruskin. The focus is no longer on the resignation of veteran head coach Paul Holocher, but rather on the task at hand.

"The purpose of fall camp is simple, make sure the players are prepared." Ruskin said. "We need to have the younger players that are new to the system get a good feel and make sure they understand their roles."

Ruskin is coming into a program that former head coach Paul Holocher built into a soccer powerhouse. Holocher directed the Mustangs to 5 winning seasons and led the program to its first NCAA tournament berth in 13 seasons.

Ruskin spent a combined 4 years as an assistant at Stony Brook and Valparaiso following a career at division III Elmhurst that ended in 2008.
