Cal Poly freshman goalkeeper Wade Hamilton was named Big West Defensive Player of the Week after allowing just one goal in two Mustang wins. On Tuesday, Hamilton made four saves in a shutout victory at home against UC-Davis. Hamilton followed that performance with a career high 11 saves in Cal Poly's 2-1 overtime win at 16th ranked UCSB.

Hamilton ranks second among Big West goalkeepers in save percentage (.795), third in goals against average (.96) and fourth in saves per game (3.88).

Cal Poly's other goalkeeper, Chase Hauser was named Big West Defensive Player of the Week on September 10.

At 4-2-1 in the conference Cal Poly is in a second place tie with Sacramento State in the Big West North Division. The Mustangs host the Hornets on Saturday at 7:00pm. Cal Poly has two games after that. The top two teams in each division earn a berth in the Big West Tournament.
