Cal Poly slugger Mitch Haniger has agreed to terms with the Milwaukee Brewers according to Baseball America.
The Brewers selected the junior outfielder in the supplemental round of last week's Major League Draft with the 38th overall pick. Haniger will reportedly receive a $1.2 million bonus.
Haniger earned Big West Conference Player of the Year this spring after leading the league with 13 home runs, 64 RBI, 132 total bases, 7 sacrifice flies and a .626 slugging percentage. He ranked in the top five in several other categories. Haniger started in all 56 games this season and finished with a .346 batting average.
After three years with the Mustangs, Haniger ranks fourth all-time with 26 home runs, tied for third with 47 doubles and tied for fifth with 137 career RBI. The Bay Area native is expected to be selected in the first three rounds of next week's 2012 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft.
Haniger said on his Twitter feed on Monday that he was going to sign his contract on Thursday.
