Cal Poly's next opponent beats UC Davis to improve to 3-1

On Thursday night the Cal Poly football team will get Big Sky Conference play started at Portland State. On Saturday the Vikings improved to 3-1 with a 41-10 win at UC Davis.

DJ Adams rushed for 208 yards and scored two touchdowns, Adams averaged 15 yards on 14 carries. He continued his trend of one touchdown every 10 carries, and his 85 and 27-yard TDs helped Portland State to a 14-7 halftime lead. Adams added a 50-yard carry that led to a Kieran McDonagh 2-yard touchdown run, giving PSU a 27-7 third quarter lead.

McDonagh accounted for four touchdowns, two rushing and two passing, but had a season-high three interceptions. His first interception led to the Aggies (0-4) only touchdown, a 7-yard run by Gabe Manzanares to make it 7-7 in the second quarter.

Jimmy Laughrea was 20 of 30 for 180 yards to lead UC Davis. The Aggies have scored just four touchdowns in as many games and are off to their worst start since 1965.
