The Cal Poly women's soccer team won 4-1 at Sacramento State and the Mustangs will take a 3-0-1 record into Friday's home match against the University of California.
The match was scoreless until Cal Poly sophomore Sara Epps scored 43:59 into the first half.
Early in the second half, Sacramento State's Raylene Larot scored to even things at one but a minute and half later, Cal Poly junior Cristina Farrington found the back of the net to retake the lead. The Mustangs scored two goals within a minute a bit later in the half to go up 4-1. The final goal was also scored by Farrington, she now leads the team with three goals on the season. The third goal was scored by junior Braelyn Fetsch.
The four, second half goals were scored just over seven minutes a part. Sacramento State scored 52:10 in and then the Mustangs scored three goals over the next 7:18.
Goalkeeper Alyssa Giannetti made seven saves. Sacramento State drops to 1-1-1.
The Mustangs return home to host Cal on Friday at 6:00pm at Spanos Stadium. The Pac-12 team is 2-2 this season.
