Cal Poly is one of the leading school's in the state where students have an eating disorder, according to the National Eating Disorder Association.

Student Emily Marr is one of those students battling the disease.

She has organized a walk this weekend at Mitchell Park in San Luis Obispo where people can help put an end to the disease and learn more about it.

"It's very difficult, you seem alone and a lot of people don't know how to help and don't know what it is and that's why I want to do these walks," said Marr.

The event is 9:30am-1pm on Saturday.

It costs $15 for students; $25, otherwise.

Marr has already raised $7,000 for the National Eating Disorder Association.
