Hungry college students lined up to welcome the arrival of one of San Luis Obispo's newest restaurants.
Chipotle Mexican Grill does not officially open its doors until Friday, but on Wednesday night it invited in Cal Poly students for a free burrito from 5-8 p.m.
All they had to do is show their college ID.
The turnout was huge.
Students filled the restaurant and the line stretched around the block.
"We had one guy who was camped out last night in a tent," said Ashley Head, a Chipotle marketing consultant. "He left around 10 a.m. this morning to go to his class, came back, and then studied out on our patio from 3 to 5 and then all his friends came. It's been a crazy day."
On Thursday night you can score some free food.
Anyone who stops in between 5-8 p.m. will get a free dinner.
The restaurant is located downtown on Higuera Street.
Starting Friday it will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
