The Cal Poly volleyball team finished the season with a three set loss on at Long Beach State. The Mustangs finish 12-17 overall and 6-10 in Big West matches while LBSU improved to 18-11 overall and 11-5 in conference matches.
LBSU won by set scores of 25-12, 25-16 and 25-14.
Cal Poly was led by senior Megan McConnell with nine kills on 24 swings (.250), while freshman Taylor Gruenewald tallied eight kills on 21 swings. Freshman Lexi Reddick, in her first start, had six kills. Senior Steffi Sooter led the team with 15 digs.
Cal Poly hit .090 for the match while LBSU hit a blistering .394. The 49ers held a minor edge in digs, 45-44, but dominated at the net, outblocking the Mustangs, 15-2.
