Cal Poly is alerting students about the man California Mens Colony officials say escaped from the facility. While Cal Poly police say they have no information that Bryan Sims is on campus, they issued a warning Tuesday because of the proximity of Cal Poly to the prison.

CMC officials say 34-year-old Sims was last seen at the CMC Wastewater treatment plant, which is located near Cuesta College, at about 10:00 p.m. Monday.

Sims had been serving time for attempting to evade an officer and possession of stolen property. He was a minimum security inmate and was up for parole in 2014.

If you have any information as to where he may be, you are asked to contact a local law enforcement agency.
