A big win for a local university as Cal Poly sinks the competition at this year's National Concrete Canoe Championship.
On Saturday we brought you highlights from the canoe contest out at Lopez Lake.
After putting their engineering skills to the test, the Mustangs beat out the 21 other schools from across the country, and Canada, vying for the title.
Their concrete canoe, "Amazona," came in at 170 pounds and was just light enough to win the race.
This is the first time Cal Poly has hosted and won a national title in the competition.
