Elise Krieghoff scored twice, while St. Joseph High graduate Sara Epps and Sarah Lancaster each scored one goal to lead the Cal Poly women's soccer team to a 4-1 win over Pacific in its Big West Conference opener Friday.
Krieghoff opened the scoring in the 20th minute on a ball assisted by Cici Kobinski. Epps made it 2-0 with a 29th minute score. The Tigers cut the lead in half with a 34th minute goal.
The Mustangs added to their 2-1 halftime lead with a goal in the 54th minute by Lancaster on a ball assisted by Haley Walker. Krieghoff scored just two minutes later, her team-high 5th goal of the year, thanks to another assist from Kibinski.
The Mustangs snapped a 5 game losing skid and improved to 4-5-1 overall and 1-0 in Big West play. They host UC Davis on Sunday at noon. The Aggies beat UCSB 2-1 in overtime on Friday.
