Cal Poly women's soccer falls 5-1 at #17 BYU

The Cal Poly women's socer team dropped its third-straight match on Thursday with a 5-1 loss at 17th ranked BYU.

The Mustangs scored less than five minutes into the match as Cici Kobinski caught the BYU goalie out of position to score off an assist from Elise Krieghoff.

However, BYU answered back with three goals in the first half and two more in the second half.

The Mustangs took 10 shots, only for of them were on goal. The Cougars fired off 31 shots, including 16 on goal. Freshman goalie Alyssa Giannetti made 11 saves in goal for the Mustangs.

Cal Poly returns to action next Saturday, September 23 at Fresno State.
