Cal Poly's Rachel Clancy scores her first Big West Player of the Week award of the season.
The junior averaged 18.5 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds per game last week helping the Mustangs to two Conference wins.
She started with a 14-point effort in Cal Poly's 21-point win over then-first place UC Davis. She hit 4 of her 7 three point shots and added five assists to help Cal Poly secure first place in the standings.
Two days later, Clancy hit all five of her three-point attempts and finished 7-9 from the floor overall with 23 points. She tied her career high with five three-pointers and finished one point shy of tying her career high. She shot 63 percent from the floor and 75% from three-point range. Her performance on Saturday in a 99-63 win over Pacific helped Cal Poly make its first 11 three-point shots, which tied an NCAA Division-I record set by Texas Christian in 1996.
The Big West leading Cal Poly women return to action on Thursday night at Long Beach State.
