Cal Poly's health and counseling services offers both peer and professional counseling for students with alcohol and drug problems. Counselors said many students find that choices related to alcohol and drug use are a challenging part of their college experience. But they stress there is help available. Mary Peracca, a drug specialist, said, "The more that they're drinking or if they're under the influence of drugs as well that impairs their judgement. They're not the smart students that they are when they're here in class if their brain is altered." Counselors said students can walk into the health center any day between 1:00 - 3:30 p.m.
