Cal Poly second baseman Matt Jensen has been invited to the USA Baseball Team trials for the second year in a row.
The sophomore will have a shot to represent the United States this summer at the World University Championships in Japan on the Collegiate National team.
The trials run from July 5-11 in North Carolina.
Jensen is the first Mustang to be invited to the national team trials.
He missed the trials last year after he fractured his collarbone late in the season with the Mustangs.
Jensen hit .375 last season for the Mustangs and led the team with 15 doubles, 9 home runs and 53 RBI prior to his injury.
He was later named the Big West freshman of the year and a freshman All-American.
Jensen's collarbone has healed completely.
The Mustangs open the season at home against USC on February 19.
