Cal Poly baseball star Matt Jensen hopes the second time is the charm when it comes to making Team USA. Starting on Tuesday, the sophomore second baseman will be at the USA Baseball National training complex in Cary, North Carolina.
Matt is the first Mustang ever invited to try out for USA Baseball's College national Team. He was also invited last year but was unable to compete due to a broken collarbone.
This past season, Matt hit .271 before missing the final 19 games with a dislocated knee.
39 players are vying for spots on the 22 man roster. The team trials end on Sunday when the team will be announced.
This summer, Team USA will travel to Taiwan, as well as compete at the World University Championships in Japan.
