The California Department of Motor Vehicles launches a new smartphone application.
Wednesday, the DMV unveiled the new Android app called "DMV NOW." The department says the application will allow folks to find local offices, check on wait times, get directions to an office, take sample written driving tests and check out DMV alerts.
Back in February 2010, the DMV launched an application for the iPhone. The department says that app was wildly successful, with 56,000 folks downloading it to their phone.
The app is free for both Android and iPhone users.
