Two districts seats up for grabs in supervisor races

There are two positions up for grabs for the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors. For the 2nd District, Janet Wolf and Dan Secord are vying for the spot. Wolf was elected to the Board of Supervisors in November 2006. Secord is a two-term member of the Santa Barbara City Council. The two ran against each four years ago and it was close, just 5 percentage points separated that election. The 2nd District includes portions of western Santa Barbara, the eastern Goleta Valley as well as neighborhoods from the top of San Marcos Pass to More Mesa and Goleta Beach.

For the 5th District position, Steve Lavagnino and Alice Patino are running. Lavagnino has been a Senior Level Government Staff Assistant for the past eleven years. Patino has been a member of the Santa Maria City Council since 1999. The 5th District serves residents in northern Santa Barbara County. It includes a portion of Santa Maria, Cuyama and Sisquoc.
