The security of social security top issue for local seniors

Should social security be privatized? That's the question being raised as the campaign for the 23rd Congressional district heats up.
Congresswoman Lois Capps hosted a rally at 11:30 this morning outside the Social Security office in Santa Maria to speak out against proposals to privatize Social Security.
She says her Republican opponent for the 23rd district, Tom Watson, endorses a plan to privatize the federal program and end Medicare by turning it into a voucher system.
Watson's campaign manager denies the accusation.
