San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Caren Ray says she'll be a candidate in the June 2014 primary election for Fourth District County Supervisor. Ray was sworn into the position back in October. She was appointed to fulfill the remainder of Paul Teixeira's term on the Board of Supervisors. He passed away in June.
Teixeira would have faced re-election in the June 3, 2014 primary and the November 4, 2014 general election.
Caren Ray previously served on the Arroyo Grande Planning Commission. She was also an Arroyo Grande City Council member, and she was the first woman on the council in nearly two decades. Ray earned her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Cal Poly in 2009.
