If your appliances don't seem to be working the way they used to, now may be the right time to replace them.
The federal government is offering $3 million in rebates when you buy new, energy-efficient appliances. But, each state has different rules.
In California, the state is implementing a mail-in rebate program in April. Consumers must provide proof of recycling to receive rebates, and you must have bought the appliances from a California retailer.
