A tornado ripped through the town of Hattiesburg, Mississippi Sunday.
A fire official says the twister caused major damage in the city and on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi.
Campus police have declared a state of emergency.
Emergency management officials reported some power lines were downed and some gas lines damaged.
Several injuries were reported.
