Cause of Cal Poly student's death released

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office Coroner's Unit says a Cal Poly student who was found dead in the water at Montana de Oro State Park was intoxicated when he drowned.

The body of Stefan Wagner, 21, of Fresno, was found on June 28, eight days after he was reported missing in the area of Spooner's Cove.

The Sheriff's Office says the coroner's investigation found Wagner was under the influence of alcohol, marijuana and a psychedelic drug called 2C-E.

Wagner was a Biomedical Engineering student at Cal Poly.
