Central Coast firefighters sent south to help battle wildfires

Dozens of firefighters from the Central Coast are helping to battle the wildfires burning in Ventura and Riverside Counties.

Santa Barbara County has sent 15 engines to Ventura County. Those engines include crews from Santa Maria, Lompoc, Montecito, Carpinteria, Santa Barbara City, and the Santa Barbara County Fire Department. Fire officials say they will be working to protect homes and other buildings in the path of the fire.

Cal Fire in San Luis Obispo County is also sending six hand crews to help in the firefight.
