People in San Luis Obispo received an emotional lesson in history through the words of a Central Coast Holocaust survivor.
Thomas Blatt spoke to an overflow crowd at the Jewish Community Center Thursday about his experience as a holocaust survivor in Poland.
Earlier in the day he spoke to students at Atascadero High School and he will be speaking at Mission Prep Friday.
Blatt is one of the few who made it out of a Nazi death camp located in Poland where nearly 200,000 people were killed.
"This was the biggest revolt of any Nazi camp in occupied Europe. We revolted and killed practically all the Nazis and we escaped," Blatt said.
Blatt Who lives in Santa Barbara has written two books.
