Central Coast students demonstrate robots

Central Coast students showed off their robots in San Luis Obispo Monday evening.

Eight high school teams from San Luis Obispo and Northern Santa Barbara Counties demonstrated how their hand-built ground and under-water machines work.

Engineers from local and international robotics companies were also at the event.

It was all part of the "Annual Student Robotics Expo" put on by Softec to educate students in the area.

"Elementary kids can see what happens in high school and we even have robot companies here. So these high school kids can get a focus on what they can do in college and even see what they're doing in their future careers," said Joshua Erdman.

If you would like to help Softec donate money to local high school robotics programs, call (805) 781-2600.
