The 28th annual Central Coast Wine Classic kicked off today and will run through Sunday.
There was a barrel tasting in Pismo Beach this afternoon and tonight the elegant dinner at Hearst Castle for sponsors.
The wine classic is a little different from other local wine festivals in that it features not only local wines, but wines and chefs from all over the state.
The festival was started by Archie McLaren because he believed local wines could stack up against competition anywhere, and that showcasing them all together could prompt national attention.
The event has raised millions for local charities and runs through Sunday.
