Bartenders from central coast restaurants really used some creativity to show off their mixology skills at the Exploration Station's annual "Chemistry of Cocktails" competition in Grover Beach earlier this month.
The restaurants donated their expertise and ingredients, and organizers say they also invested a great deal of time designing specialty cocktails using scientific techniques to come up with inventive, creative drinks for the event.
Here is how thing shook out:
1st Place & People's Choice: Ralph & Duane's with their "Lemon Meringue π"
2nd Place: Cool Cat's Café with their "Cake Pop Tini" cocktail
3rd Place: Doc Burnstein's with their "Merlot Raspberry" treat
They were up against some tough competition with bartenders from F. McLintock's Saloon & Dining House, The Quarterdeck, Sea Venture, Rosa's Ristorante Italiano, LIDO, Sidecar and the Madonna Inn participating.
