Chenault throws no-hitter in Righetti's 15-0 opening win at Cabrillo

Katie Chenault struck out 12, threw a no-hitter and went 3 for 3 at the plate to lead the Righetti softball team to a 15-0 season-opening win at Cabrillo on Tuesday.
The senior picked up where she left off last season when she hit .343 and went 14-5 with a 1.62 ERA.
Judith Salazar also went 3 for 3 for the Warriors. She clubbed a home run, a double and finished with 2 RBI.
As a team, the Warriors (1-0) collected 13 hits, of which 7 were doubles and one was the long ball from Salazar.
Righetti, which went 18-9 last year and 9-3 in the Pac 7, hosts Lompoc at 4 pm on Friday.
