Children who have a television in their bedroom are more likely to be overweight.
Researchers surveyed more than 6,000 kids ages 10 to 14.
They found about 60 percent of those children had televisions in their bedrooms.
Of the children with televisions in their rooms, more of them were overweight compared to kids without a television in their room.
The obesity risk existed even when researchers took into account how much time kids spent watching television, socioeconomic background, and whether the children played video games.
Outside experts say the solution is simple: remove televisions from children's rooms.
