A Grover Beach chiropractor is helping our veterans returning from war with back pains caused by lugging around heavy equipment, sleeping on cots and injuries on the job.

He is offering them free care for one year, no strings attached.

"Within two weeks of getting chiropractic care, I was doing better than the V.A. had done in like 20 years with me," said Army Veteran Kevin Woolley who broke his tailbone while stationed in Germany.

He also said it would take months to get an appointment with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Los Angeles, only to be prescribed medication.

After getting treatment from Dr. Daniel Bronstein, he is now off the meds and almost pain free.

Dr. Bronstein now wants to help all local vets returning from the war zones.

"Really our goal is to serve these folks who have served us," said Bronstein who interned at the V.A. in Los Angeles and said he witnessed much of what Woolley described.

Even the International Chiropractors Association finds our vets are being underserved.

"So they're calling on ICA members to provide free care for up to a year after our vets return," said Bronstein.

The Welcome Home Troops Organization is helping to spread the word by handing out pamphlets to troops returning home.

"The fact that they don't have to travel to LA or SF that we have this resource right here on the Central Coast is priceless," said Cheryl Tolan, the organization's founder.

The free care is specifically designed for troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan..

"The packs that they're carrying upwards of 70, 80, 90 pounds at times. I see a lot of injuries with guys that are coming back," said Bronstein.

As they return home, Dr. Bronstein wants to help them adjust and get back to normal.

If you are a vet interested in Dr. Bronstein's offer, or you know someone who might be, he can be contacted at Tullius Chiropractic Center located at 902 W. Grand Avenue.
