Local California Highway Patrol officers have tracked down the suspect of an attempted murder case.
KSBY News was on scene when officers tracked down Adrian Salais on a local transit bus in San Luis Obispo. They pulled the bus over at the corner of Santa Rosa Rd. and Highland Rd., near Cal Poly. Officers tell us they had received an anonymous tip that he was on board the bus, and there were reports he was on his way to Oregon. He's been arrested but it's not clear whether he's been taken straight to County Jail or to the Morro Bay Police Department for questioning.
Officers say Tuesday morning, Salais intentionally ran down a man on the 2800 block of Alder Ave. in Morro Bay. Officers say Salais and the victim were acquaintances, and that three people witnessed the incident.
It was believed that Salais was getting away in a GMC truck that was reported stolen earlier this week. There were also worries that he was carrying a stolen gun. Officers say he was not armed at the time of his arrest.
The victim in the attempted murder case suffered serious injuries.
KSBY News will have exclusive video tonight on our News at 5 & 6.
