CHP identifies Santa Maria man hit and killed while riding bike in Lompoc

Cyclist killed in Lompoc

James Hamlin, 58, of Santa Maria, died Sunday when he was hit by a car while riding his bicycle in Lompoc, according to the California Highway Patrol.

It happened on southbound Highway 1, south of San Antonio Road East. CHP said an 84-year-old Lompoc man swerved into the shoulder, hitting Hamlin. Hamlin died Sunday night at Marian Regional Medical Center.
