The California Highway Patrol needs help in locating a car that was involved in a fatal hit and run collision that happened last Tuesday on highway 101 in Santa Barbara.
The CHP says a 2010 to 2013 white Hyundai Tucson was involved. They say that the vehicle should be missing the left side driver mirror and a piece of the plastic front bumper.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office later identified the man killed as Simon Chavez, 22, of Santa Barbara.
According to the CHP, the hit-and-run happened just after 1 a.m. in the southbound lanes near the Castillo Street off-ramp in Santa Barbara.
Officers had received several calls of a man staggering on the highway and by the time they got there, he had been struck and killed, the CHP said.
Anyone with information should contact the Santa Barbara CHP office at 967-1234.
