Emergency crews and the California Highway Patrol are still on scene of a fatal crash on Highway 46 outside of Paso Robles. It happened Wednesday morning, east of the Whitley Gardens Bridge.
The CHP says two vehicles were stopped at a construction zone when the driver of a truck who was not paying attention failed to stop and slammed into them. The CHP says a worker had tried to get the driver's attention. A person in the middle car died. A total of four people were involved.
Both lanes of the highway in that area are still closed while the accident scene is cleared.
